I am a professor of molecular epidemiology of infectious diseases at the University Medical Center Utrecht and I have been a principal investigator in many large scale epidemiologic studies and investigator-initiated randomised trials of prevention and treatment of infectious diseases.
Next to my work at UMC Utrecht and various scientific bodies, I am the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Ecraid – a non-profit organisation that coordinates Europe’s largest self-sustainable academic ‘warm-base’ network for clinical research in infectious diseases.
